Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy in Livermore, CA is seeking to raise $30,000 for its annual Roadrunner Run, with a 50% donation match available in August. Funds will support field trips, enrichment programs, and student activities throughout the year

Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy in Livermore, California has set a $30,000 fundraising goal for its fourth annual Roadrunner Run, scheduled for October 16. The school is encouraging families, local businesses, and community members to contribute through the Community Health and Education Foundation Giving Community platform, where all donations made in August will receive a 50% match.

The funds raised will be used to cover a range of student-focused initiatives. These include supplies and decorations for the Roadrunner Run event, custom event shirts for students, staff, and volunteers, as well as snacks and prizes for participants. In addition, proceeds will help support Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)-funded programs such as field trips, school-wide assemblies, on-campus events, and enrichment activities for students across all grade levels.

Fundraising Details and Community Involvement

Organizers are actively seeking sponsorships from local businesses, offering advertising opportunities in school newsletters, on event shirts, banners, and social media. The PTO is also inviting community members to make individual donations, emphasizing that every contribution, regardless of size, will help enhance educational experiences for students at the Title I school.

Last year's fundraising efforts allowed the PTO to provide classroom stipends for every teacher, establish a field trip fund for each grade, and create a contingency account to support staff during a financially challenging period for the district. This year, the school hopes to build on that success by reaching its $30,000 target and expanding opportunities for students.

How Funds Will Be Used

According to the PTO, the money raised will directly benefit students by funding both the Roadrunner Run event and a variety of enrichment programs. These include educational field trips, special assemblies, and on-campus activities designed to foster unity and celebrate student achievement. The school's leadership views the Roadrunner Run as a tradition that brings the community together while highlighting the value of education.

Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy serves a diverse student population and relies on community support to supplement district resources. The PTO's fundraising efforts are especially important for maintaining programs that might otherwise be at risk due to budget constraints.

Community members interested in supporting the Roadrunner Run can donate through the designated online platform during August to maximize their impact through the matching program. Local businesses seeking sponsorship opportunities are encouraged to contact the PTO for more information about partnership options.
