Farmington Voice began publishing in 2014 as a local news publication serving Farmington and Farmington Hills. The site developed its local and Michigan coverage over the years and entered a new phase under new independent ownership and editorial leadership in 2026, with Ethan Mercer as owner, publisher and editor.

Ethan Mercer serves as owner, publisher and editor and holds overall responsibility for the current publication's editorial standards and publishing decisions.
