Source Hierarchy

Where available, we prefer primary evidence such as public records, government documents, legislation, official datasets, regulatory filings, company filings, research papers and direct interviews.

Company press releases, political statements and other interested-party materials may be relevant sources, but their claims may require independent confirmation.

Cross-Checking

For important or disputed claims, Farmington Voice may compare multiple sources, review underlying documents or seek direct confirmation.

When sources conflict, the article should reflect the uncertainty or explain the disagreement rather than select a convenient version without support.

Data and Statistics

Statistical claims should be tied to an identifiable source where practical. Writers should consider the date, geographic scope, methodology and limitations of the data.

Charts and tables should not use misleading scales or omit context that substantially changes the meaning of the data.

Politics and Elections

Statements from candidates, political parties, campaigns or advocacy organizations are not treated as verified solely because they were publicly stated.

Voting rules, election dates and official results should be checked against appropriate authoritative sources when available.

Business and Corporate Claims

Farmington Voice distinguishes announcements from measurable execution.

When relevant, claims about investment, jobs, production, facilities, technology or expansion may be compared with filings, public records, hiring, operating activity or other available evidence.

Anonymous Sources

Anonymous sources are used rarely. Important anonymous claims should be corroborated where possible with documents, data, official statements or additional sources.

After Publication

Verification does not end when an article is published. New evidence may require an update, clarification or correction.
