Northwood University's 52nd Stafford Dinner is set for a 1970s disco night in Midland on Feb. 27, 2027. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Dec. 1, with proceeds supporting the Stafford Dinner Memorial Scholarship.

At 5121 Bay City Road in Midland, the Great Hall Banquet & Convention Center will host Northwood University's 52nd Stafford Dinner on Feb. 27, 2027. Students chose "Disco: Dine & Do the Hustle" as the theme for the annual student-led event, which pairs dinner with dancing. The university's event announcement says tickets are scheduled to go on sale Dec. 1.

The venue is in Midland, not Farmington. Northwood identifies the dinner as a university fundraiser, rather than a Farmington municipal or school-board event.

Co-advisor Karla Spaeth-Yost said university leaders and alumni had asked for a disco theme for years. Co-advisor Laura Rhodes said the evening will give guests a chance to revisit the 1970s over dinner and dancing.

General Chair Joseph Eisenman said student organizers want the dinner to bring the Northwood community together while raising money. Proceeds will support the Stafford Dinner Memorial Scholarship, which is intended to expand future Northwood students' access to educational opportunities.

The dinner honors William D. Stafford, the first chair of Northwood's Hotel, Restaurant & Resort Management department. From 1969 to 1972, Stafford shaped the program's curriculum by bringing in practical experience from the hospitality industry.
