How Farmington Voice uses AI for selected illustrative images while keeping editorial drafting, sourcing, verification and publication under human control.
Farmington Voice uses artificial intelligence in a limited role. Current AI use is restricted to selected illustrative or graphical images.
What We Do Not Use AI For
Farmington Voice does not currently use AI to:
- Write editorial drafts;
- Translate articles;
- Generate article summaries;
- Monitor editorial sources;
- Create fictional sources or quotations;
- Create author identities or credentials.
AI-Generated Images
AI may be used for selected illustrative images or graphical concepts.
Such images must not be presented as authentic documentary photographs of real events when they are not.
AI-generated imagery must not falsely depict a real person as participating in an event that did not occur or fabricate visual evidence.
Human Editorial Responsibility
Human editors remain responsible for story selection, sourcing, verification, publication decisions, corrections and editorial judgment.
AI is not treated as an authoritative source.
No Fabricated Information
AI tools must not be used to fabricate facts, quotations, names, events, documents, statistics, professional credentials or source identities.
High-Impact Topics
AI-generated material should not be used to create unsupported medical, legal, financial, election, public-safety or other high-impact claims.
