Your Voice: Green uniquely qualified for Farmington school board

I write to express my enthusiastic support for the candidacy of my friend and former teacher Pam Green for Farmington Public Schools Trustee.

I had the privilege of having Mrs. Green as my kindergarten, second and third grade teacher at Flanders Elementary. As an educator, she filled her classrooms with a never-ending supply of warmth and creativity and instilled in us values of compassion, respect, and service, which will remain with me always.

I was fortunate to have many great teachers during my time as a FPS student, but when I was given the opportunity in my senior year of high school to select a single educator to bring with me to the Superintendent’s Awards of Excellence, there was no hesitation; I asked Pam Green.

It is hard to imagine a more qualified candidate for school board. Aside from her sterling career as an educator, her resume also boasts years of executive experience as principal of multiple FPS schools, where she was known to work many a night and weekend to ensure that educators and students had the best classroom experience possible.

Mrs. Green has often been described as having a “big heart” to complement her work ethic, which couldn’t be more accurate. She is one of the most genuine, thoughtful and driven people I have ever met. I’ve always watched with admiration as she selflessly employed this passion in service of others, always finding time for a student, parent, or fellow educator in need despite her hectic schedule.

Mrs. Green genuinely believes that each and every student in this district can be anything they want to be and she will work tirelessly to help all children achieve. She has all of the qualities we could hope for in a school board member and more.

Pam Green has been an incredible parent, teacher and executive in our district. Let’s help her continue her exemplary service to the Farmington Public Schools by electing her to the Board of Trustees. Please vote for Pam Green on November 6.
