Linda Wozniak, a representative from Shepard Insurance Agency, Wood Creek principal Melissa Wiercinski, nominator Patrick Gregory, nominator, and Diane Bauman, Director of School/Community Relations, surprised Foster with a $300 classroom makeover grant, offered by Shepard Insurance Agency – a Meemic Insurance Company.

Presented over the past four years, the grants can be used to enhance classrooms or get needed materials and supplies.

Co-worker Patrick Gregory, who works across the district helping teachers integrate technology in their classrooms, secretly nominated Foster.

“Amy has so many books for her kids, along with other instructional tools, and needs a bookshelf to house everything so the kid’s can access it all,” he wrote. “With the potential help from Meemic for a classroom makeover, I’d like to take on the responsibility of building it for this classroom and donating my time and woodworking skills to Amy and her students.”
