The Sept. 4 Labor Day holiday will affect government offices, local libraries, trash collection, and road projects in Farmington and Farmington Hills – but not our weekly farmers market.
Trash collection delayed
Trash will not be collected on Monday, Sept. 4. All garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickups will be delayed by one day during the entire week with Friday’s collection made on Saturday. To ensure pickup, please have your garbage at the curb by 7 a.m.
Farmington Community Library closed
Both the Main Library, 32737 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills, and the Farmington branch, 23500 Liberty St., will be closed Sept. 2, 3 and 4.
Government offices closed
Farmington and Farmington Hills City Halls and the 47th District Court will be closed Sept. 4.
County road projects
The Road Commission for Oakland County will suspend work on all county projects from 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Some lane closures will remain in effect.
Farmington Farmers Market open
The Saturday, Sept. 2 market, open 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., will feature live music, children’s activities, and vendors selling Michigan produce and products.
