What you should know about Halloween in Downtown Farmington

Saturday brings downtown Farmington’s annual Halloween Fun Fest, trick or treating, and the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market’s Haunted Market, the market season’s big finale.

Here’s the family fun line-up and parking information:

Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market Haunted Market

9 a.m.-2 p.m., Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park

Market entertainment and activities will include:

  • bounce house
  • trick-or-treating
  • vendors in costume
  • music by Bob Monteleone
  • ventriloquist act Boytoe and Lazareth
  • chef’s demo with Chef “Deadly Dan” Maier demonstrating and sampling “Ghoulish”
  • Steve Hoops hula hoop show with pyrotechnics
  • Freedom Gateway Center at the Little Sprouts tent with a photo booth, crafts, and skits performed hourly starting at 10:30 a.m.

Halloween Fun Fest

11 a.m., Farmington Community Library Farmington branch, 23500 Liberty St. Story time with fun, not-so-scary stories, crafts, and activities.

12 p.m. Farmington Civic Theater, 33332 Grand River Free showing of “Inside Out”, rated PG, 1 hour, 35 minutes.

2-4 p.m. at participating businesses Wear your costume and trick-or-treat downtown. Look for pumpkin signs to find those participating.

2-4 p.m. parking lot behind Farmington Insurance Agency, 33215 Grand River Greater Farmington Area Chamber members will set up a “trunk or treat”, with candy, give-aways, and best costume and best trunk contests.

Parking in the Downtown Farmington Center, on both sides of Grand River (Grove to Farmington Road), and in the lots north of Grand River between Warner Street and Farmington Road, are time-limited.
