The Luddites bring a big sound to Farmington August 4

Billed as “the loudest acoustic band on earth,” The Luddites will bring their 10-piece ensemble to Riley Park August 4, launching the last month of free concerts in downtown Farmington.

The Luddites

Guitars, voices, percussion, and a sassy horn section combine with this award-winning group’s warm mix of rock, swing and a gypsy-like folk sound. The concert, which gets underway at 7:30 p.m., marks the beginning of the end for the Rhythmz in Riley Park season. Remaining Friday concerts will feature Crazy Chestur, Billy Mack and the Juke Joint Johnnies, and Allie Louise.

Bring a chair or blanket to Riley Park, located at Grand River and Grove Street. If it rains, the concert moves to First United Methodist Church, just north of the park. No food or drink is allowed inside the church. Keep up on concert and downtown happenings on Facebook.
