It’s Thanksgiving week in Farmington and Farmington Hills, here’s what you should know:
Community Thanksgiving Service
C.A.R.E.S. of Farmington Hills and the Farmington Area Interfaith Association will host a Thanksgiving celebration Monday, Nov. 19, 5:30 p.m., that’s open to the community. The event includes a free, strolling dinner, music, messages from leaders of local faith communities. Monetary and non-perishable food donations to C.A.R.E.S. will be accepted. Trash collection
Trash and recycling will not be collected on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s on Saturday.
Government offices
Farmington and Farmington Hills city offices and the 47th District Court will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, as will U.S. Post Office branches in downtown Farmington and Farmington Hills.
Farmington Community Library
Both branches of the Farmington Community Library will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and Thursday, Nov. 22, and will reopen on Friday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m.
Farmington Public Schools
Thanksgiving break begins for students on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Classes resume on Monday, Nov. 26.
