More than 1,000 Farmington and Farmington Hills residents remained without power Sunday night as freezing rain affected DTE Energy equipment across the Detroit metro area.
According to the DTE outage map, the largest areas affected are north of Nine Mile Road east and west of Middlebelt, south of Shiawassee between Hawthorne and Nine Mile, north of Freedom Road from just west of Gill Road to a block east of Farmington Road, and neighborhoods east of Beaumont Farmington Hills hospital. Smaller outages are scattered in and around those areas.
The power company estimates 310,000 customers lost power Sunday morning. A DTE spokesperson told the Detroit Free Press that the company hopes to have almost all power restored by Tuesday evening.
