The Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market returns to downtown Farmington August 25, with music by Full Tilt Boogie, a cooking demo with Cafe Cortina, and a full selection of Michigan summer produce.
Market Master Walt Gajewski said “fresh” will take on new meaning at this week’s market, with different vendors from week to week. Farmers will bring in loads of Michigan produce, which has been moving quickly in recent weeks.
“I have seen fruits and vegetables going out of the market literally in crates,” he said. “You can pick up the freshest local produce for all your canning needs.”
Detroit-based Full Tilt Boogie will bring on the funk starting at 10 a.m. in Riley Park, and Chef Ernesto from Cafe Cortina will begin cooking on the south side of the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion at around 11 a.m.
The weekly market is open Saturdays, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., through October. Upcoming events include the Market of the Harvest Moon on September 22, 2nd Annual Italian American Day on September 29, and the Haunted Market on October 27. Learn more at farmingtonfarmersmarket.com.
