South Farmington Baseball and Softball officially opens its 2019 season on Saturday, May 4, with a day-long celebration.
The youth league’s annual Opening Day festivities start with a parade that steps off at 10 a.m. from Farmington City Hall, Liberty Street and Grand River. The route moves down Oakland Street, then to Farmington Road and ends at Shiawassee Park.
The first pitch will be tossed by Mayor Ken Massey and Mayor Pro-Tem Sara Bowman. Post-parade festivities will also include a bounce house, food, softball, baseball, and tee-ball games all day long, a Mom2Mom equipment sale, and MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run competition.
