Non-profit and charitable organizations are welcome to march in the 2019 Memorial Day Parade, which steps off at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 27, in Farmington.
Co-sponsored by Groves-Walker American Legion Post 346 and the Xemplar Club of Farmington & Farmington Hills, the parade has been a community tradition since 1970 and honors veterans, fallen heroes, and active service men and women.
Participants assemble near the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Orchard Lake Road and will travel one mile west on Grand River. The parade ends at Oakland Avenue, where a ceremony will take place at the Farmington War Memorial Monument in Memorial Park.
After the ceremony, the American Legion hosts at community luncheon sponsored by Weingartz at 31775 Grand River.
