Santa visit, battle for charity this week in Farmington Hills

Two big holiday events happens this week in Farmington Hills:

Holiday Lights Ceremony

The City of Farmington Hills celebrates its 25th Annual Holiday Lights Ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. on the Farmington Hills City Hall campus on the southwest corner of Orchard Lake Road and Eleven Mile Road.

Trees at City Hall will be illuminated along with a 20-foot tall candle. Singers from the Farmington High School Vocal Harmonics will entertain. After the ceremony, Santa will visit and refreshments will be served inside Fire Department Headquarters, 31455 W. 11 Mile Rd.

Battle of the Middles XIII

Two Farmington Public Schools teams – Warner Middle School and Farmington STEAM Academy versus Power Middle School and East Middle School – will do battle on the basketball court to raise money, collect food and toys for Farmington/Farmington Hills Neighborhood House.

The Battle of the Middles will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Harrison High School gymnasium, 29995 W. 12 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, or $1 with two or more canned goods or free with a new unwrapped toy.
