A veteran Farmington Public Schools (FPS) staffer has been named assistant principal at Power Middle School.
Kurtis Lovio most recently served as administrative Intern at Farmington STEAM Academy and as the district summer school supervisor. He came to Farmington in 2008 and has taught third, fourth, and sixth grades. He also taught fourth grade at Wood Creek Elementary School where he served as Acting Principal/Teacher in Charge.
Lovio received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and his Master’s degree in K-12 Education Administration from Michigan State University. He also holds a K-12 Michigan School Administrator Certificate and Michigan Professional Education Certificate.
“We had a wonderful pool of highly qualified internal candidates to choose from and we are very excited to welcome Kurtis to Power Middle School,” said Allyson Robinson, Principal of Power Middle School. “He will make a wonderful addition to our administrative team.”
