Own a historic home? Check out this Farmington Hills plaster workshop

The City of Farmington Hills is hosting a Plaster Repair Workshop on Saturday, September 15, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the Spicer House in Heritage Park, 24915 Farmington Rd.

Presented by the Michigan Historic Preservation Network, the workshop will feature plaster repair specialist James P. Conklin of JPC Plaster, who will demonstrate the fundamentals of plaster repair and restoration.

Participants will learn about the composition of historic plaster, receive maintenance tips, and practice basic plaster skills on a demonstration wall.

Cost is $30, or $50 for two participants. The event is open to the public; there is no residency requirement. Space is limited and registration closes on September 7 at eventbrite.com.
