Optimists host 5K for childhood health in downtown Farmington

The Michigan Optimists 5K Run/Walk for Childhood Health and Wellness steps off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, in downtown Farmington.

Farmington city officials on Monday approved an application for the family-friendly event, which is co-hosted by the Farmington/Farmington Hills Optimist Club and Farmington Brewing Company (FBC). Registration opens at 8:30 a.m.; runners and walkers will take off from the parking lot behind FBC, at 33336 Grand River.

The registration fee of $25 includes a t-shirt. Enter your size when you register at firstgiving.com/event/oif/MichiganOptimist2019. Sponsorship information is also available online.

All proceeds benefit the Michigan Optimist Health and Wellness Campaign, which funds all Michigan health centers that treat children with serious illnesses.
