Yousif-Dickow competed in the Automotive Electrical category against several students from 12 other regions in Michigan. The competition included both written and hands-on components. After the competition, the judges noted how impressed they were with  her knowledge and application skills compared with her fellow competitors.

“It’s tough being the only girl in a male industry,” Yousif-Dickow said. “Four years of hard work with Mr. Verbeke paid off. Glad to take home the gold!”

David Verbeke is an auto mechanics and technology teacher at North Farmington High School.
