North Farmington HIgh senior Grace Zalubas took home more than a dozen awards from the the 91st Annual Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society (MITES) State Competition.

A number of Farmington Public Schools’ (FPS) Engineering and Architecture students competed in the event, which was held May 8 – 11 at Shanty Creek in Bellaire.
Zalubas won the top architecture award with her NEF High-Speed Study Zone design. She also brought home a Divisional Award for the Best Project at the junior/senior level, for her exterior rendering of a fire station.

“MITES gives our engineering, architecture, and auto students an opportunity to compete against their peers in the state in many real-world categories and competitions,” Amy Porter, Architecture and Engineering Teacher at North Farmington and Farmington High Schools, said in a press release. “I am proud of North Farmington and Grace Zalubas for taking home the two top honors in the Architecture category.”
