New artists join a line-up of favorite acts for the 2019 Stars in the Park outdoor concert series, which opens June 13 in the Heritage Park Amphitheater, 24915 Farmington Road In Farmington Hills.
New to the amphitheater this year:
- Canadian rocker/songwriter Sarah Smith – June 20
- Americana music from Grizzly Goat – July 11
- Smooth vocal harmonies from TBD A Cappella – Aug. 8
Stan Barnes & Friends will close out the series on August 15 with a collection of jazz, Motown, R&B, and funk groupings. Saxophone soloist Stan Barnes is also a Farmington Hills firefighter.
On June 27, the Indian Musical Extravaganza by Jai Ho, the biggest audience draw for the last three years, brings together a multi-faceted team of high-energy performers who sing and dance in an array of Bollywood, folk, and fusion.

There are still openings for High School Music Night performers; call Cultural Arts Programmer Karla Aren at 248-473-1857 or fill out a short application at tinyurl.com/starsinpark2020 to perform on July 18 (or in the 2020 Stars in the Park Concert Series).
All concerts start at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and last until approximately 8:30 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and a picnic dinner to enjoy on the hill in the natural setting of the park. No alcohol or pets are allowed in Heritage Park.
