Neighborhood House seeks Tupper Award nominees

Farmington/Farmington Hills Neighborhood House has opened nominations for the Fifth Annual Dick Tupper Community Service Award, presented during a Fundraising Gala held on Thursday, April 19, at Longacre House, 24705 Farmington Rd. in Farmington Hills.

The award goes to someone who shares and demonstrates the spirit of caring, giving and achieving that Dick Tupper had when he created Neighborhood House more than 25 years ago. Tupper was a longtime Farmington resident and businessman, who gave countless hours serving his community and inspired others to do so.

Last year’s winner was Tina Jensen, a longtime volunteer with Farmington Public Schools, and founder of Farmington Families in Action, which is today the Call to Action Coalition.

Neighborhood House serves the residents of Farmington and Farmington Hills by providing needed assistance throughout the year. Last year, Neighborhood House provided financial assistance to more than 250 families in our cities for rent assistance, utilities, prescriptions and food.

Tickets to the Gala are available now with a suggested donation of $25. Tickets can be purchased at the Farmington Public Schools Central Office, 32500 Shiawassee, Farmington, by calling the Neighborhood House office, 248-871-2848, from any Neighborhood House Board Member, or at the door. The event will include hors d oeuvres and a cash bar.
