After winning a Michigan PTA (Parent Teacher Association) video contest, the Farmington Area PTA Council won a visit from National PTA President Jim Accomando and National PTA Service Representative, Deb Fritz, who toured Lanigan Elementary School and Farmington High School (FHS) on April 20.

“The Farmington PTA Council was honored to welcome National PTA President Jim Accomando. We were excited to highlight our parents’ involvement as advocates for the children of Farmington Public Schools and beyond,” said Beth Hulett, President of the Farmington Area PTA Council. “For the next 100 years and more, we commit to our continued involvement for even more significant changes in our society, government, and schools so that all children will be afforded the best education possible.”

On April 21, two Farmington Public Schools students participated in the Michigan PTA Centennial Celebration held in Dearborn.
LaVonda Vance, student representative from the Farmington High PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association), provided the recognition of guests and partners, including Sen. Debbie Stabenow, State Rep. Christine Greig, State Superintendent Brian Whiston, and Dr. Nikolai Vitti, Superintendent, Detroit Public Schools Community District. Leneshia Todd, Farmington Central High School student, shared how her involvement in the Farmington High School PTSA has benefitted her.
