MSU football standout joins Farmington Hills Police Department

An award-winning Southern Methodist University (SMU) and Michigan State University (MSU) football player was sworn October 10 as a Farmington Hills police officer.

Oakland Police Academy graduate Prescott Line celebrated with family and friends during a ceremony held at the Farmington Hills Police Department.

Line holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Physiology and Sport Management with a minor in Sociology from SMU in Dallas, Texas. He played football there for four seasons, earning a position as starting running back in 2014 and 2015 and awards for outstanding performance and dedication.

In 2016, Line began working on his Masters degree at MSU, where he was starting fullback for the Spartans. Awards he picked up at MSU include Second Team All-Big Ten and the Unsung Hero Award.

Line has been assigned to the Patrol Division of the Operations Bureau as part of the Field Training program.
