Scores of local residents will raise funds to combat hunger during the 34th annual Farmington/Farmington Hills/West Bloomfield CROP Hunger Walk, held Sunday, May 5, at First United Methodist Church, 33112 Grand River Ave., in downtown Farmington.
Registration starts at 1 p.m. Last year, the local CROP Hunger Walk raised over $32,000 with the help of 176 walkers and the support of more than 60 local businesses and faith organizations.
Of the funds raised, 25 percent is shared with local charitable organizations that help to fight poverty and hunger, including the Farmington-Farmington Hills Neighborhood House, the Farmington-area Salvation Army, the CARES of Farmington Hills Food Pantry, and Yad Ezra.
