Motor City Blend Chorus of Farmington Hills and Sweet Adelines International (SAI) members from around the world will celebrate Barbershop Music Appreciation Day and mark SAI’s 73rd anniversary on July 13.
With 105 active singing members from two countries, two states and 14 counties, the ensemble ends its summer break and resumes rehearsals at 7 p.m. on July 17 at Orchard United Methodist Church, 30450 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills, under the direction of master directors LeAnn K. Hazlett and Sylvia Karpinsky.
More than 100 Motor City Blend members will compete in mid-October at the SAI worldwide competition with 33 other regional champions vying for an international medal. There will be send-off shows of the competition package in Oakland and Macomb Counties on September 22 for friends and families; details to be announced.
