“Competing at the International level is a great experience for my students,” said Nina Merget, Harrison’s DECA advisor. “Students are able to network with other students from around the world while showcasing their hard work.”

During the school year, DECA students compete with one another at local and state events focused on real-life business scenarios and project presentations designed to test students’ academic understanding and skills development. The international participants must win one to two prior competitions (district and state) before they are eligible to compete at the international level.

DECA is a nonprofit career and technical education student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges.
