‘Leisure Seeker’ author speaks in Farmington July 12

Beautiful MusicMichael Zadoorian, author of The Leisure Seeker, now a Sony Pictures movie, will speak July 12 at the Farmington Community Library Farmington branch about his new book, Beautiful Music.

Set in Detroit in the early 1970s, Beautiful Music centers around the turbulent life of a young man who finds himself in the music of local legends like the MC5 and Iggy Pop. The book was published in May by Askashic Books.

The Leisure Seeker shares the adventures of octogenarians John and Ella Robina, who set off on one last adventure as each faces a different health crisis. The movie adaptation stars Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland.

Zadoorian will read excerpts, answer questions and sign books during the 7 p.m. event in the library’s meeting room. Registration is required; call 248-553-0321.
