Legion, cities host 16th Patriot Day Ceremony in Farmington

The Farmington community’s 16th Annual Patriot Day Ceremony, held Sept. 11, 6 p.m., in downtown Farmington, will honor the memory of nearly 3,000 citizens and first responders who died in terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Held at the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park, the annual event is hosted by Groves-Walker American Legion Post 346, along with the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills. During the ceremony, the Farmington Hills Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year and Farmington Public Safety Officer of the Year will be recognized.

Light refreshments will follow the ceremony. Minimal seating available; attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
