A new Farmington mental health and wellness company will host an open house on Saturday, Oct. 21, with four sessions to introduce visitors to guided meditation.
WiseMindGentleSoul, founded by West Bloomfield resident Brandon Klein, draws inspiration from many types of meditation including transcendental, mindfulness, and loving-kindness.
“Part of what meditation teaches us is how to distance ourselves from our thoughts, opening us up to new ways of thinking, behaving, and ultimately living our lives,” he said. “Interacting with our thoughts in a such a way sets individuals up for a sustained sense of resiliency, calm, and control.”
Klein received his Bachelors degree in Honors Psychology with minors in business and music from the University of Michigan in 2015. He also holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University. As a part of his graduate work, he served as a training clinician and held the role of Intake Coordinator at the University clinic. He also has experience leading individual and small group meditations, as well as leading meditation for organizations in larger group settings.
Open house guided meditation sessions will be held at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with time for refreshments after. WiseMindGentleSoul is located at 23023 Orchard Lake Rd., Building G, Farmington. For information, call 248-824-0605 or visit wisemindgentlesoul.com.
