The Power of Produce (POP) returns to the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market Saturday, with POP bucks that encourage kids to purchase healthful local produce.
Look for the POP tent, where kids ages 4-12 can earn $3 vouchers to shop the market for fruits and veggies by passing some fun challenges. Children must be accompanied by a parent.
Open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington, the September 8 market will include free samples of cauliflower and peaches, with Fresh Thyme Farmers Market sampling pineapple “donuts”. Music at the Market will feature Mark Reitenga, starting at 10 a.m.
Essential Family Chiropractic in Farmington is the market’s day sponsor and guest host for Little Sprouts Corner.
Spend $20 at any downtown Farmington store or eatery on market Saturdays, show your receipt(s) at the information tent, and pick up a beautiful jute market bag free of charge. And remember to sign up for the weekly market basket giveaway, also at the information tent.
