Joe LaRussa

A film about a touring band that suffered a devastating loss will close out the “Love in the the Songs: Music + Movies” series presented by KickstART Farmington and the Greater Farmington Film Festival.

“Parallel Love: The Story of a Band Called Luxury” will be shown November 13, 7 p.m.  at the Farmington Civic Theater, 33332 Grand River in downtown Farmington.

The 2019 documentary follows the path of Luxury, a band from small-town Georgia, on the cusp of success. After a devastating touring wreck with long-term consequences, the group continues to make records, and three members of the band become Eastern Orthodox priests.

Through interviews and archival footage, Parallel Love tells the gripping and poignant story of Luxury and documents the making of a new record, now as priests. Glenn Black, the drummer for Luxury, will be in the house for some Q & A after the screening.
