Farmington Hills residents have until July 8 to nominate property owners who make a special effort to create and maintain beautiful landscapes for a special award.
For 30 years, the city’s Beautification Commission has presented awards to businesses, offices, and subdivision or condominium entrances with attractive and well-maintained landscapes. From mid-July to August, judges will visit nominated sites to look for well-planned design, landscape variety, imaginative use of color, originality, and property maintenance. Additional consideration will be given to maintenance by non-professionals and also to environmental sensitivity.
To nominate your own property, or any other deserving property, visit fhgov.com or call the Community Development Office at 248-871-2543 to have a form emailed, faxed, or mailed.
New this year – if you are managing or maintaining the landscaping for a property owner, include your name and contact information as well as the property owner’s name and contact information so that you can both be congratulated and receive invitations to the awards presentation. Awards will be presented at the 2019 Beautification Commission Awards Ceremony on October 24.
