High school transition on Farmington school board agenda

The principals of North Farmington and Farmington High School will on August 20 talk with Farmington Schools trustees about the district’s transition from three high schools to two.

Hundreds of students from Harrison High, which closed in June, will relocate to the two buildings. Joe Greene (North Farmington) and Tom Shelton (Farmington) will speak during the 6 p.m. board meeting, held in the Schulman Administrative Center, 32500 Shiawassee in Farmington.

Also on the board’s agenda:

  • Review of bids for Maxfield Education Center parking lot work;
  • Review of a required Title I Parent and Family Engagement Plan;
  • A proposal presented by Farmington Central High principal David Reese to change the name of the Highmeadow Common Campus building; and
  • A timeline for new superintendent Dr. Robert Herrera’s goals and evaluation
