Help monitor bluebirds in Farmington Hills park

Help monitor the bluebird population in Heritage Park by taking part in a training offered Wednesday, March 6, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., at the Farmington Hills Nature Center.

Bluebird monitors get the opportunity to visit sensitive areas of the park, while gathering valuable information from nest boxes. The data that monitors collect is used by Cornell University’s Nestwatch online program to track progress made by birds across the country.

All ages are welcome to attend the training; children must be accompanied by an adult. All materials will be provided. Monitors must be able to commit to visiting the park once a week. There is no cost, but pre-registration is strongly recommended.

Register at the Costick Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd., or at Call the Nature Center at 248-477-1135 or write to for more information about this and other upcoming programs.
