Harrison High to host final Special Education benefit

Greater Farmington Founders Festival

Harrison High School (HHS) will host its seventh and final HHS Special Education benefit on Friday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m., in the school cafeteria, 29995 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills.

What started out as one student’s small project in the Buddies Learning Together program has grown to include dancing, raffles, 50/50, games, food, and fun. Buddies Learning Together, an elective class, pairs general education students with special education students. Together, they attend classes such as dance, art, marketing, or spend time working in the school store, baking cookies and stocking chips.

The event is open to the public, and the cost is $5 per person, excluding District special education students, who get in free. This year, students have chosen Farmington Special Olympics as the recipient of funds raised during the event.
