Sample craft beer and wine, take a Taste of Farmington, and dance to live music next week, during the 13th Annual Harvest Moon celebration, happening Sept. 21-23 at the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington. Outstanding Special Event by Main Street Oakland County in 2016.
Named the 2016 Outstanding Special Event by Main Street Oakland County, Harvest Moon opens at 6 p.m. on Thursday with live music by Northville Folk and harvest fare catered by John Cowley & Sons. More than 50 craft beers will be on tap from brewers throughout the Great Lakes region and more than 30 wines from around the world will be poured.
Friday’s Harvest Moon Dance, held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., includes live music by Bugs Beddow and the Good Stuff, more beer and wine, and Taste of Farmington, with offerings from The Cheese Lady, Browndog Dessert Bar, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, Chive Kitchen and Dagwood’s Deli & Catering.
Saturday brings the largest Farmington Farmers Market of the season featuring farmers, artisans, and performers. The Farmington Jaycees will host a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Pavilion.
Tickets to the Harvest Moon Celebration can be purchased at the door for $8 or in advance for $6 at John Cowley & Sons, The Vines, Merle Norman Cosmetics and Meadows Fine Wine & Liquor, as well as Saturdays at the Farmers Market.
