The next Friday Night Live concert, presented by St. Joe’s Medical Group, happens November 9 at the Farmington Civic Theater. It’s another songwriters round with local singer-songwriters Amy Petty, Mark Jewett, Rochelle Clark and Sam Corbin.
Concerts are held in the upstairs theater and focus on singer-songwriters in an up-close-and-personal atmosphere. Scott Freeman, the theater’s general manager notes, “Before we can ask, performers tell us they really like the venue. The comments tend to revolve around acoustics and intimacy.”
Amy Petty’s sound blends folk, pop, rock and blues. She’s known for her signature voice and style.
Rochelle Clark’s strong vocals and energetic guitar create a musical magnet. She also performs as part of the duo The Potter’s Field.
Ypsilanti-based Sam Corbin writes songs based upon day-to-day experiences with influences coming from the troubadours of Greenwich Village and the soul singers of Detroit.
Mark Jewett has been twice recognized by American Songwriter Magazine (2015 & 2017). He’s a natural at sharing his outlook on life through music.
Friday Night Live concerts begin at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available in advance at the box office or at the door. Also, online at Eventbrite.com. Cash only at the theater.
