Friday basketball battle raises funds for Farmington area charities

Farmington Public Schools middle school staff and teachers will face off in a Friday basketball game to raise funds for local families in need.

The 15th Battle of the Middles will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Farmington High School, 32000 Shiawassee in Farmington. Teams are from Warner Middle School and Farmington STEAM Academy (North) and Power and East Middle Schools (South).

Proceeds benefit two local charities: Neighborhood House, which provides support to local families year-round, and Farmington Area Goodfellows, which holds a holiday drive to ensure that no child or senior goes without a Christmas.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. New this year, the Jumpin All-Stars will entertain guests during a half-time show with fancy jump rope skills.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and children; $1 with the donation of two or more canned goods or free with the donation of a new and unwrapped toy.
