FIre damages Farmington Kentucky Fried Chicken

Farmington firefighters responded Thursday morning to a kitchen fire that damaged the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, 20740 Farmington Road.

According to a press release, officers arrived around 9:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the roof. The lone KFC employee and several workers from Magic Cleaners next door made it safely out of the building, and no firefighters were injured during the incident.

The Farmington Hills Fire Department helped bring the fire under control. The restaurant sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, but the building is salvageable. The fire did not spread to Magic Cleaners.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with assistance from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigation Unit.
