The agenda for a Tuesday, April 16, 5 p.m. Farmington Public Schools Building and Site/Safety committee meeting includes an update on the long-vacant Maxfield Training Center.
A purchase agreement for the property on Thomas Street in downtown Farmington remains in place after months of delays as developers have tried to come up with a palatable project. More than a year has passed since trustees agreed to lower the purchase price, based on AC Acquisitions‘ proposal to reduce density from 150 luxury rentals to 60 multi-story, owner-occupied condominiums.
However, plans presented at a Farmington Planning Commission hearing just a few months later proposed 115 studio, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments among three buildings on the 3-acre property. The commission tabled action on the project.
The 5 p.m. committee meeting also includes review of a contract with DM Burr for custodial services; that contract will come up during the school board’s regular 6 p.m. meeting and includes a 2 percent increase in costs.
The regular meeting will also include reviews of science curriculum and bus purchases. Both agendas and supporting materials are posted at https://login.boardbook.org/Public/PublicHome.aspx?ak=1000199
Both meetings will be televised on cable channel TV-10 and live-streamed at https://farmington.vod.castus.tv/vod/.
