FPS parents invited to learn about active shooter training

Farmington Public Schools (FPS) parents can learn more about the district’s ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) training during an event held December 3, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Maxfield Education Center, 32789 W. 10 Mile Rd., Farmington.

The ALICE Training Institute helps schools, businesses, healthcare organizations, and houses of worship better prepare people to prevent, mitigate, respond to, and recover from a violent incident. Learn more at alicetraining.com.

The event is hosted by Farmington Public Schools’ PTA Council and Farmington Hills Police Department. While no simulation activities will be provided, attendees will experience the ALICE training that has been given to FPS staff. Law enforcement personnel and the District’s school safety officer will answer questions.
