Seventeen Farmington Public Schools’ (FPS) middle school students recently attended a STEMersion event hosted at Lawrence Technological University (LTU). They spent time with Dr. Sibrina Collins, Executive Director of Marburger STEM center at LTU, and worked collaboratively in teams to design and construct a stable structure with the following materials: a deck of cards, a ruler, tape, and scissors. The winning teams were awarded cardboard Google virtual reality glasses. STEMersion was orchestrated by Helen Kiefer, FPS’s Middle School Career Development Technician.
