Farmington Masons award scholarship

Farmington Masonic Lodge #151 and the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation have awarded a scholarship to Farmington High School graduate Rebecca Grodsky.

The daughter of Gerald and Jennifer Grodsky, Rebecca was honored during the August 6 Farmington Masonic family picnic in Shiawassee Park. The scholarship recognizes excellence in academics and a commitment to extracurricular activities.

Rebecca will attend Michigan State University this fall and plans to study Veterinary Technology.

Also during the picnic, William Ellis received the Mason of the Year award. Ellis was honored for his work in helping to maintain the historic Masonic Hall in downtown Farmington.

The Masonic Lodge has been awarding scholarships to deserving Farmington Public Schools graduates for more than 50 years. The Michigan Masonic Scholarship program this year awarded over $300,000 in scholarships through 150 Masonic Lodges statewide.
