Farmington leaf collection begins Nov. 4, until then, bag your leaves

If you’ve been raking your leaves onto Farmington streets, please stop.

That’s the message city Public Works Superintendent Chuck Eudy shared during Monday’s city council meeting. Farmington’s supplemental leaf pick-up program begins November 4.

Eudy said at this point, residents should bag their leaves and yard waste for collection on their regular trash days. And when pick-up begins, rake leaves just to the curb.

“If you rake your leaves into the street, chances are it will plug up the storm sewer drains, your road will flood, and we’ll be out there clearing the drains,” he said.

Residents should rake their leaves to the curb no earlier than 48 hours before the scheduled collection dates noted on this map:
