Farmington Hills welcomes two new police officers

Farmington Hills Police Department recently hired two police officers who both hold degrees in Criminal Justice.

Officer Matthew Miller and Officer Patrick Moran were sworn in June 1 at the department’s headquarters. Both officers are assigned to the Patrol Division of the Operations Bureau as part of the Field Training program.

Miller earned his degree from Madonna University in 2017 and is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Intelligence, also at Madonna University. He completed the Wayne County Police Academy in May 2018 and received two scholarships for being one of the top academic recruits in the class.

A 2018 Western Michigan University graduate, Moran completed the Kalamazoo Valley Police Academy in May 2018. He previously worked for the Western Michigan University Department of Public Safety as a student dispatcher and for Van Buren County Probation and Parole as a drug technician.
