Farmington Hills Police warn of ‘stranger danger’ incident

Farmington Hills Police issued a “stranger danger” warning Wednesday, after a man in a white work van approached a child near Mulane Street and Bond Road.

According to a press release, a vehicle stopped beside the child on Tuesday, August 14, at around 2:30 p.m. She told police that the man began to speak to her; she also believes he took a picture of her with his cellphone before driving away.

The driver, described as a white, 50 to 60 years old, with white hair and side burns, and a clean shaven face, did not get out of the vehicle or try to lure the child inside. The van may be a box utility van, with a picture of furniture on the side, according to the release.

Detectives are actively investigating this report, and officers will conduct increased patrols in the area. No similar incidents have been reported in the Farmington Hills area.
