It was all a misunderstanding.
Farmington Hills police say that a man who approached a group of children Monday afternoon and offered them a ride is a resident of the neighborhood, and the children misunderstood his offer.
The incident happened at around 4:10-4:30 p.m., in the area of Albion and Liberty Street, a subdivision near Middlebelt between Grand River and Nine Mile Road.
The children were standing at a bus stop when the driver stopped to ask them if they wanted a ride. When they refused, he stayed for a short time before driving away. According to police, he did not get out of his car or try to lure the children into it.
