There’s only one item on Monday’s Farmington Hills City Council agenda, but it’s an important one.
Officials will hear a presentation on the November ballot proposal for a local road millage, which will replace the city’s current method of funding road repairs. Now, residents must petition for road improvements, and the city is limited to paying no more than 20 percent of the cost.
The 2.75 mill levy would fund road repairs, zero out current special assessments, and refund assessments paid by homeowners in previous years.
The September 24 council meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 31555 W. 11 Mile Rd. The full agenda, which includes time for public comment, is posted at fhgov.com.
